Interesting Aloo-Based Paratha

Parathas are a classic North Indian dish that is an upgraded version of the humble roti. The North has given us further upgraded varieties of parathas that contain delectable filling and stuffing. Here is one such paratha – The delicious Aloo Paratha. As the name suggests it is different from the regular Aloo Paratha. Usually small round dough portions are stuffed with the aloo filling but in this recipe the aloo along with the host of ingredients is mixed with the flour. An added bonus of this recipe is that it is completely vegetarian. So if you are having guests over for lunch or dinner who are completely vegetarian or vegan, then this is a perfect dish to accompany your main course. It is guaranteed to yield rave reviews.

Ingredients –

  • Wheat Flour and Flour / Atta+ Maida: 2 cups
  • aloo (potatoes): 4/5 boiled and mashed
  • Salt: As per taste
  • kalo jeera/ kalonji seeds: 1 tsp
  • ajwain/ carom seeds: 1/2 tsp (optional)
  • green chillies: 5/6 more or less
  • coriander leaves: optional chopped
  • Oil

Preparation –

  • Sieve the flour and wheat flour together
  • Mash potatoes and make a dough with the flour, mashed potatoes,chopped green chilies, salt and kalo jeere.
  • Take small rounds and flatten them to make parathas.
  • Shallow fry them.
  • Serve hot

Note –

  • This can be prepared with only wheat flour or flour.
