Guacamole

Guacamole is basically a dip or a salad made with Avocado. Its origin can be dated back to the Aztecs, which is now situated in Mexico. Though it originated in Mexico but today it has become an International sensation due to its taste and healthy recipe. In American cuisine you can find it as a dip, part of a salad or as a condiment.  Here is the recipe for the delicious Guacamole.

Ingredients:

  • 3 avacados, ripe
  • 1 lime
  • 1 or 2 finely minced cloves of garlic
  • A medium tomato that chopped and de-seeded
  • Half a small onion chopped,
  • 1 jalapeno (for mild hot flavour remove the seeds and ribs or leave them in for a  hotter flavour)
  • chopped cilantro
  • coarse salt

Preparations

  • Cut the avocados in half and take out the pit carefully with your knife!
  • While the avocados are still in the peel, cut them vertically and horizontally (being careful not to cut the peel) then scoop out the avocado chunks into a bowl.
  • Squeeze out half a lime’s juice into the avocado chunks.
  • Next add in garlic to the bowl and mash it all up a bit more.
  • To the mashed up avocado mix add chopped tomato, chopped onions and salt along with jalapeno and cilantro.
  • Cover this with plastic wrap and refrigerate for half an hour so that the flavours mix up and produce a delicious dip.
