Besan Diye Dim er Curry / Egg Curry with GramFlour

Eggs are an amazing source of protein while Besan is basically chickpea flour. Besan, in Indian cuisine, is used popularly for preparing a batter that coats veggies or other ingredients, while deep frying them, to create a delicious snack. In this recipe, I have added besan as a thickening agent that also adds an amazing flavour to the ordinary Dimer Curry or Egg curry. If you are tired of making the same old Anda (Egg) curry, then you must prepare this dish. It is sure to amaze your family and friends. Ingredients

  • Boiled Eggs
  • Salt
  • Chilli Powder
  • Onion, Ginger & Garlic Paste
  • Capsicum — chopped, optional
  • Tomato Sauce
  • Cumin & Coriander powder
  • Garam Masala
  • Gram Flour
  • Coriander leaves (chopped, optional)
  • Sugar
  • Tomatoes (chopped)
  • Mustard Oil

 

Preparation

  • Boil the eggs and sprinkle salt and chilli powder on them. Keep aside.
  • Heat oil in a pan. Sauté onion, ginger & garlic paste along with green chillies
  • If you want to add capsicum, this is the stage, and saute it for a while
  • Mix gram flour, tomato sauce (2 TSP), salt, sugar, coriander & cumin powder, garam masala powder and water together to make a paste.
  • Sauté this mixture in a pan
  • Add chopped tomatoes and cook well
  • Once the gravy starts to boil add the boiled eggs
  • Sprinkle chopped coriander leaves (cilantro) if you want to use them
  • Remove from heat
  • Allow some standing time
  • Serve hot with rice/roti
