Bandhakofi diye Macher Muro/ Cabbage with Fish Heads

Ingredients:

  • Fish head

  • Cabbage (finely chopped)

  • Potatoes (cut in cubes)

  • Tomatoes

  • Cumin (whole)

  • Bay leaf

  • Ginger paste

  • Chili paste

  • Turmeric paste

  • Cumin paste

  • Ghee

  • Garam masala powder

  • Salt

  • Sugar

  • Water

Method:

  • Fry the fish head well and keep aside

  • In a pan, heat oil and temper with cumin seeds and bay leaf

  • Add the potatoes and fry till nicely browned

  • Now add all the masala pastes and salt and fry till oil separates

  • Add the cabbage and sauté for a little while

  • Cover till cabbage is almost cooked

  • Add the fried fish head and tomatoes

  • Stir fry for a while and cover again (sprinkle a little water if required)

  • When the cabbage is fully cooked, add a little sugar and fry again till everything softens and gets very well mixed together

  • Add ghee and garam masala powder and mix well

  • Serve
