Kasoori-Lehsuni Dal

 This is a recipe I have learnt from my friend.

Ingredients –

  • Arhar Dal
  • Masoor dal/ Chana Dal
  • Turmeric powder
  • Hing
  • onion
  • Tomato
  • Ghee
  • Cumin seeds
  • Garlic
  • chilies

Preparation

  • Pressure cook 1/2 cup arhar dal, 1/2 cup masoor dal with haldi, a pinch of hing, salt and one large onion and tomato chopped.
  • You can use only arhar or only masoor or only chana daal also.
  • Mash the boiled dal, add a little water, add kasuri methi, chopped coriander and bring to a boil.
  • In a tadka pan, heat ghee, add cumin seeds,and as they splutter, add chopped garlic.
  • When the garlic turns light brown, add whole red chillies and hing.
  • Pour the tadka over the dal.
  • Garnish with fresh chopped coriander and chopped green chillies.
