Mixed Dal With Moong, Arhar, Chhola (Chana)

Ingredients

  • 500gms of moong daal,
  • 100gms tuvar/arhar daal
  • 100 gms of chholar (chana) daal
  • hing/ asofoetida
  • salt,
  • bayleaves,
  • turmeric powder,
  • cumin seeds.

Preparation

  • Wash and soak together 500gms of moong daal, 100gms tuvar/arhar daal, and 100 gms of chholar (chana) daal.
  • Boil the soaked daal with hing, salt, bayleaves, turmeric powder, cumin seeds.
  • Heat oil in a pan, add ghee to it. Add cumin seeds, finely chopped ginger, chopped/slit green chillies, chilly powder, cumin powder, salt and sugar to taste, and lots of chopped tomatoes.
  • Cook well till the spices are cooked and the tomatoes form a pulp.
  • Add the boiled daal.
  • Cook for a boil.
  • Remove from heat.
  • Add chopped coriander leaves.
  • Serve.
