Chicken Shammi Kabab/ Kebab

Shami kebab is a mince meat recipe from the Indian subcontinent. This one is made of chicken. This is also a versatile recipe. If you have left over kebabs, mash coarsely, put on a paratha, add chopped onions, green chillies and a squeeze of lemon – roll, and a meal from leftovers is ready in a jiffy; and a tasty one too!

 

Ingredients:

  • Chicken mince
  • Split Bengal gram lentil (Chholar dal), soaked overnight and ground to a paste
  • Ginger paste
  • Garlic paste
  • Onion paste
  • Coriander greens, chopped
  • Mint, chopped
  • Green chillies paste
  • Salt
  • Crushed pepper
  • Garam masala
  • 1 egg
  • Gram flour (besan)
  • White oil to fry

 

Method:

  • Mix minced chicken with gram paste, ginger, garlic, onion, coriander, mint, green chillies, salt, pepper, garam masala, egg, and gram flour.
  • Make small disks (tikki) about 2-2.5 inches in diameter.
  • Shallow fry in oil till done.
