Dim-er Chop/ Egg Chops

Eggs are completely versatile. Apart from being absolutely necessary in a number of dishes, they are staple food for many a days of the week in many a household. Egg Chop is an amazing yet filling snack that would spice up your weekends, house parties, monsoon evenings or winter melancholia.

Ingredients :

  • 6 eggs
  • 4 big potatoes
  • 2 big onions
  •  1 tsp ginger paste
  • 1 tsp cumin powder
  • 1 tsp chilli powder (or to taste)
  • 1 tsp garam masala powder
  • 2 cups cornflour
  • salt to taste
  • Oil for frying

Procedure:

· Wash and boil potatoes and 4 eggs.
· Peel and cut eggs lengthwise into halves. Remove skin of potatoes and mash adding salt.
· Finely slice onions.
· Heat oil in a pan. Add onions and fry till golden brown.
· Add ginger paste, cumin powder, chilli powder, garam masala powder and stir fry for 2 minutes.
· Add the mashed potatoes and fry for another 2-3 minutes.
· Remove from heat.
· Cover each half of egg with the mashed potato and shape into cutlets.
· Whisk 2 eggs in a bowl.
· Add the cornflour.
· Add cilantro salt, pepper and chili powder.
· Add cilantro water and make a thick liquid dough.
· Heat oil in a pan.
· Deep fry cutlets in hot oil.
· Remove from oil and place on absorbent towel to drain excess oil.
· Serve hot with salad and tomato sauce.
