This beautifully presented recipe would surely help to win you accolades when you make them in a party or even for your family and/ or friends. Apart from being my friend, Susmita Nath, is a Montessori teacher, wife and mom; and a wannabe creative genius with a flare for cooking.
Ingredients
- Puff pastry sheet – 3 sheets
- Ham – thinly sliced 1/2 lbs
- Pesto – 1 cup (available in gourmet section of any grocery store)
- Zucchini – 3 thinly sliced
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Shredded parmesan cheese – 1/2 cup
Method:
- Roll out the puff pastry sheets. Cut each sheet into 4 strips. That will yield 12 strips.
- Take 1 strip and spread 1 tbsp of pesto. On the top edge of the pastry sheet layer the thinly sliced zucchini on top of the pesto.
- Sprinkle salt and pepper for taste (optional, usually the pesto and ham has enough salt) sprinkle shredded cheese and then layer with ham.
- Then fold the bottom edge of the pastry sheet. Then start rolling the sheet into a tight roll. It will look like a rose.
- This recipe makes 12 roses.
- Bake them for 45 mins at 400 F oven.
