Mach er pudding (Fish pudding)

Ingredients:

  • Pona machh (Carp) (pieces from the belly portion)
  • Onion (chopped)
  • Onion-ginger-garlic paste
  • Chilli powder
  • Turmeric powder
  • Salt
  • Sugar
  • Egg (yolk only)
  • Butter

Preparation:

  • Boil the fish pieces, de-bone and mash
  • Heat oil and fry chopped onion
  • Add all the pastes and powdered spices and fry the masala well
  • Add fish, salt and sugar and fry well
  • Take it off flame and bring to room temperature
  • Grease an oven-proof pan with butter and smear the mixture evenly
  • Beat the egg yolk and pour it from top
  • Cook in the microwave
  • Cut into pieces when cooked and serve with sauce and salad
