Tuna Fish Chop

Tuna Fish Chop is a very simple fish chop recipe — another English recipe which the Bengali people have adapted according to their taste. Be it a rainy evening with your family, or a get together with friends, this would be a hit!

 

Ingredients: 

  • Canned Tuna (drained)
  • Boiled potato
  • Chopped onion
  • Turmeric powder/Haldi
  • Ginger paste/powder
  • Garlic paste/powder
  • Shaan Fried Fish Masala (or any other brand’s fried fish masala – quantity as per taste)
  • Garam Masala powder
  • Salt to taste
  • Sugar to taste
  • Egg
  • Bread crumbs

Method:

  • Drained the canned tuna and keep it aside.
  • Heat oil in a heavy bottom vessel and fry onions till caramelized.
  • Add Garlic and ginger paste and sauté for some time.
  • Add the tuna and turmeric powder, salt and Shaan masala and cook till all the water from tuna has dried up.
  • Then add the garam masala powder and sugar.
  • Mash the potatoes and add it to the fish mixture and sauté for some more time and remove from heat.
  • Make round or any shape balls, dip in the egg wash and roll in bread crumbs.
  • Deep fry in hot oil.
  • Serve with any dips or sauce (Maggie Hot & Sweet Chilly sauce is a hit with this chop in my family).
