Baked Lamb Chops in Gravy

Lamb chops are a lean and light cut of meat that is slightly sweet to taste and will be delicious whatever way you cook it. Oven baking the lamb chop is the most popular way to cook this cut of meat. This recipe uses the same method of cooking. This recipe might seem time-consuming but it will be worth it. Marinating the chops twice just helps enforce the amazing flavours into the meat so that the pork chops not only turns out to be delicious but succulent as well. The sauce itself is so simple to prepare and it will definitely uplift the dish on the whole.

 

Ingredients:

First marination:

  • Lamb chops – 1 kg

  • Ginger paste – 2 tsp

  • Garlic paste – 1 tbsp

  • Red chilli powder – 2 tbsp

  • salt – according to taste

  • Vinegar – 2tbsp

  • Mix all above ingredients and apply on chops and leave for half an hour.

Second marination:

  • yogurt – 125g

  • Red chilli powder – ½ tbsp

  • Oil – ¼ cup

  • Cashew nuts – 150g (fry cilantro bit and grind)

  • Then mix these ingredients and apply on marinated chops and leave for 2 hours.

  • After 2 hours, put chops in preheated oven on 220ºC for 45 min.

  • When they are done take them out of the oven.

Ingredients for Gravy:

  • Coriander powder – 2 tsp

  • Cumin powder – 2tsp

  • Oil – ¼ cup

  • Ginger paste – 2tsp

  • Garlic paste – 2tsp

  • salt – according to taste

  • onion – 2 medium (fries until brown and grind)

 

Method:

  • Take wok, put oil and heat it up

  • Add ginger garlic paste and fry a bit

  • Add coriander powder and cumin powder and fry.

  • Now add onion paste and oven mixture (which is dripped from chops during cooking in oven).

  • Fry well

  • When everything is done, put chops and put on dum for 5 minutes.

  • Serve with ginger flakes, cream and saffron.
