Reshmi chicken

Reshmi Kebab is a popular kebab dish and Reshmi butter masala is a dish with the same kebab in gravy. This dish draws inspiration from the latter. The only difference is that Reshmi butter masala has chicken kebab pieces and Reshmi Chicken has normal chicken pieces that are cooked in the gravy.  The different aromatic ingredients and spices help to make the gravy rich and luscious. Enjoy a great meal with this dish being served as a main course along with rice, roti, paratha, naan, pulao or even biriyani.

 

Ingredients:

  • Chicken

  • Lemon juice

  • Turmeric

  • Onion (chopped)

  • Ginger paste

  • Garlic paste

  • Chilli paste

  • Mustard seeds

  • Fenugreek seeds

  • Fennel seeds/Carrom seeds

  • White oil

  • Salt (to taste)

 

Method:

  • Cut chicken in curry-like pieces and marinade in salt, turmeric and lemon juice for an hour.

  • Heat oil in a pan and fry the chopped onion

  • Now add the mustard, fenugreek and fennel seeds

  • Add the chicken pieces and fry well.

  • Now add the ginger-garlic and chilli paste.

  • Cook till oil starts to separate

  • Add enough water for cooking and cover

  • Turn flame off when chicken is fully cooked

  • Add lemon juice and serve
