Chowmein

Chowmein is an essentially Chinese dish which has since long been adopted and adapted by the entire wide world and particularly the Indians. Chowmein is almost a staple for breakfast and tiffins. Every office and school area and the residential areas will have numerous places selling chowlein and chilli chicken, which is almost a staple now.
The chowmein over the years have had many variations. There are the authentic ones and as I mentioned the adapted ones. Here is what and how I make of the chowmein, which is for me a filling item .

Ingredients

• Noodles
• Cooked sausage
• Shrimp
• Egg
• carrots,
• beans,
• brocolli,
• Cauliflower
• Fish Sauce
• Garlic
• Onion
• Capsicums
• Tomato sauce
• Chilli sauce
• Soya sauce
• Spring onions

Procedure

• Boil the noodles with a pinch of salt
• Slice the cooked sausages, and if you haven’t found cooked sausages then sautee the sausages with some butter in low heat
• Marinate the shrimp with pepper and salt
• Beat egg with salt and pepper
• Scramble the eggs in a pan and keep aside
• Steam the chopped and julienned vegetables
• Heat oil in a pan
• Sauté the chopped garlic
• Mix 2 tbsp fish sauce when the garlic turns brown
• Mix the onions to this
• Once the onion turns translucent mix the shrimp
• Add the steamed vegetables and fry them well
• Add the sausages
• Now add the noodles
• Mix soya sauce, tomato sauce and chilli sauce in a bowl and add that to the noodles
• Add spring onions
• Mix these well
• Serve hot
