Pulao In microwave Or On stovetop

This is a recipe which has been taught by my mother-in-law. It tastes fantastic , but I have taken the liberty of simplifying some steps for the sake of ease and convenience.

Ingredients –

Basmati Rice

Turmeric; or if you want to be a little more expensive; then saffron

jayfol-jayitri powder (nutmeg-mace),

garam masala powder

sugar

Ghee

Cashew Nut & Raisins / Kaju & Kishmish

Preparation –

Wash the Basmati Rice well.

While wet, add the following masala to the rice -Turmeric; or if you want to be a little more expensive; then saffron-jayfol-jayitri powder (nutmeg-mace),garam masala powder, sugar and Ghee

Soak Cashew and Raisins in a bowl. You can add Green peas to this too.

take a microwavable bowl with lid and mix white oil and ghee – 1 tsp each and heat them for 30 seconds.

Add bayleaves, whole Garam Masala and cook for a minute.

Now add the rice and water in the proportion of 1:2.

sprinkle a pinch of salt and couple of drops of oil.

Cover with lid and cook till the rice is done.

Serve with chops or Mutton.

Alternatively you can put the concoction in a heavy bottomed pan with lid and cook on stovetop.
