Ma-in-Law Special Alur Dom
Because just the earlier post was about normal Alur dam recipe I thought I should share the special recipe that my mother –in-law makes. It is a little different cooking procedure wise and tastes a little different too. Why don’t you cook both and check out? Here’s how –
Ingredients –

Ingredients for the dry masala – Mix all these well in a dry powder

Bay leaves -2

Cumin – 20gms

Coriander – 20gms

Methi (fenugreek) – 10 gms

Small Cardamom – 10/12 pcs

Darchini (cinnamon) – 15 gms
- Hing (Asafoetida)
Preparation –

Cube potatoes
-
Heat oil in a pan and temper with panch phoron and hing

Fry the cubed potatoes till red

Add ginger paste,turmeric powder,salt and slit green chillies
-
Stir well
-
Add a little water and also a pinch of sugar
-
Let the potatoes boil well.

Add the dry masala, but ensure that the amount is not too much
-
Serve hot
