Badam halwa made with almond flour by Sneha Aman Singh

She may not be a great enthusiast about the daily grind of everyday cooking, but when it comes to desserts, she never lacks energy or enthusiasm. Sneha Aman Singh, apart from being my sister (in-law), is a wonderful person inside out, a busy IT professional, and a mom of two boys (one human and another canine) who loves to explore food and recipes.

Ingredients:

• Almond flour : ghee : water : sugar – 1 : 1 : 1 : ¾ (and a little more ghee, water, and sugar to balance the taste and consistency if needed)
• saffron powder
• Crushed almonds

Method:

• Soak almonds in water overnight
• Next morning peel off the skins and make a paste of the almonds
• Heat a pan
• Add little ghee and let it melt
• Add almonds paste and fry for some time until water evaporates
• Add water and let it cook
• When it turns dry, add sugar and remaining ghee
• Stir continuously
• Sugar will melt and then it will be mixed with the almond paste
• Stir more for some time
• Add little ghee again if needed so that it doesn’t stick with the pan
• Sprinkle little saffron
• Put the flame off
• Mix saffron thoroughly
• Sprinkle some crushed almonds on the halwa
• Let it cool and then serve it. You can serve it hot also
