It is always special when a daughter does something for the daddy — and when it is self-made cake for his birthday, you know it is loaded with love. Well, that love is exclusive — but what we can share with you are the ingredients and method that went along with the love to make that wonderfully sinful cake.

  • 2 cups white/dark/milk chocolate
  • 1 cup caster/normal sugar
  • 1 cup milk

  • 1 cup dark chocolate
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla essence

  • 2 tablespoon milk

Method:

  • Take milk, butter, sugar & chocolate in a pan and heat on medium flame till it all dissolves to form a smooth liquid
  • Preheat oven to 170° C
  • Once this cools a bit (around 5 mins) add the vanilla essence and eggs to form smooth uniform mixture
  • Finally add flour and baking powder in a huge bowl. Keep mixing till the mixture is smooth & fluffy.
  • Butter a bowl/cake tin add the mixture. If needed make the cake in two batches.
  • Bake for 20-30 mins. Keep a watch. Once knife comes out clean, the cake is ready
  • Cool down the cake. Sprinkle a little sugar syrup to make cake soft and moist.
  • While cake cools down, take the butter for frosting and beat using electric hand/stand mixer at medium speed, till it turns pale and becomes creamy.
  • Add vanilla essence and half of the sugar under ingredients for frosting. Mix till smooth.
  • Meanwhile melt white & dark chocolate.
  • Mix rest of the sugar and beat using electric mixer to make a smooth mixture.
  • Divide this into two parts. Add white chocolate to one and dark chocolate to the other.
  • Once cake is cool, cut off the crust and cover with white chocolate frosting evenly. Next add dark chocolate frosting like a swirl.
  • Now, with the back of a spoon, mix it from left to right for marble effect.
  • Add white or dark chocolate bits for decorating. Keep in fridge for about 15-30 mins.
