Poha Upma/chire diye upma
Poha is a great breakfast or snacks idea, which is not only filling but also extremely healthy. Poha is packed with nutrients, low on gluten, is easy on digestion and light on stomach — making it a healthy snack option for health and weight watchers. I make this version of poha (which I call Poha Upma) quiet a lot at home and it is a healthy breakfast idea for us at home.
Ingredients:
- 1 Cup Poha(Chirey)
- 2 tbsp chana daal/ split chickpeas
- 1 tsp cumin seeds
- 1 sprig curry leaves
- 6 number green chillies
- 1 pinch hing
- 1 tsp mustard seeds
- 1 tbsp oil
- 1 onion chopped
- 2 tbsp peanuts
- 2 dried red chillies
- to taste salt/sugar
- a pinch turmeric
- 1tsp urad dal/ Split Black Gram
- Cilantro finely chopped
- Lemon Juice
Preparation –
- Soak poha/chirey in water for 3 mins and drain. Keep it aside..
- Heat a pan, add oil,mustard seeds,red chillies,cumin, chana dal, urad dal, peanuts, curry leaves,hing and green chillies,mix them well..Then add turmeric,salt and onions and cook till the onions have cooked…
- Then add soaked poha, mix well cook for 5 minutes..then add chopped coriander, remove from the heat, and then add cilantro and lemon juice…
Serve hot…It really tastes good..
