Phool-kopi Pata Bata / Cauliflower-Greens Mash
This is a perfect example of goodness in simplicity. I believe in putting seasonal produces on dinner table for my family. Winter brings young cauliflower greens; and like a true Bengali, I don’t discard them after cooking the cauliflower. Then become a healthy yet tasty mash that would not only ooze taste but also homely comfort and warmth.
Ingredients
- Cauliflower Greens
- Garlic (couple of cloves)
- Green chillies – as per taste
- Salt — to taste
- Mustard Oil – 2 teaspoons
- Kaalo Jeerey (Kalonji Seeds) – 1 ½ teaspoons
Method
- Dry Roast separately the cauliflower greens, kaalo jeerey and garlic
- Blend them together along with green chillies
- Heat the mustard oil in a pan
- Temper with kaalo jeerey
- Add the mash and salt
- Stir well till the moisture is gone
- Serve warm with steamed rice
