Mishti Doi in Oven/ Sweetened Yogurt in Oven

This anytime go-to Bengali dessert recipe was shared by a friend, Sushmita Purkayastha, long time back, and has been an all-time favourite ever since. I am quoting her recipe here.

Ingredients-

  • 1 can condensed milk

  • 16oz of plain yogurt

  • 1 8oz can of evaporated milk

Preparation –

  • Mix all ingredients gently together by hand so that everything is blended together smoothly but thoroughly. (do not use an electric beater as the yogurt might curdle)Pre-heat oven to 170F and bake for half an hour

  • Increase the heat to 200F and bake for another 2hrs

  • Take the doi out of the oven and let it cool. Insert a tooth pick to see if it has set properly. If it comes out clean, then refrigerate overnight before serving.
