  • Green Peas
  • Coriander
  • Cumin
  • Turmeric
  • Asafoetida
  • Cooking Oil
  • Salt
  • Sugar
  • Ghee



  • Take 1 cup green peas to grind it just to make peas into half
  • Heat little amount of white oil in a pressure cooker
  • Add 2 tsp whole jeera 1 tsp haldi powder and stir it for few seconds
  • Turn the flame on to low and add half tsp hing
  • Again stir for a few seconds
  • Add peas and saute for 1 minute
  • Mix dhania and jeera powder 1 tsp each
  • Saute for few minutes with little water
  • Pour 2 cups water or little more
  • Mix salt and 2 tsp sugar
  • Close the cooker and make the flame high
  • Pressure cook only up to 1 whistle
  • After 15 minutes open the lid
  • Check seasoning
  • Heat little ghee
  • Add little whole jeera and half tsp red chilli powder (optional )
  • Pour this ghee on dal and mix
  • You can serve this dal with paratha fried rice or roti
