Kaular Baura or Banana Fritters By Shirsha Ganguly

 

 

Shirsha Ganguly is an anthropologist, currently based in Belgium. She believes that the best way to get two cultures interacting is over food. Currently learning recipes from her husband and also whipping up her own to treat her family, and also to introduce their Belgian friends to homestyle Indian food/cooking.

 

 

 

Ingredients:

  • 3 bananas
  • 1 cup all purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup rice flour
  • 3 tablespoons sugar
  • a pinch of salt
  • Oil for deep frying

 

 

 

Method:

 

 

  • Mash the bananas after peeling them
  • Mix in all the other ingredients to make a nice thick batter.
  • Heat oil in a pan
  • Spoon small quantities of batter and drop them one after the other to the heated oil and deep fry.
