Alu Borboti Bhaja/ Potato & String Beans Fry
Bhaja or bhaji defines simplicity at its best, it is a concoction of veggies in minimal number of spices. When you incorporate such a dish in your daily menu, you get a rounded and well-balanced meal. String beans is similar to the French beans, but longer and shorter in circumference. The only spices in this dish are methi and turmeric, but do not let that fool you. The flavour that this simple dish packs are truly extraordinary. Enjoy this simple and humble dish with dal and roti or dal and steamed rice.
Ingredients
- Borboti / String Beans
- Alu/ Potato
- Methi/ Fenugreek seeds
- Salt
- Turmeric
- Mustard Oil
- Green chillies slit
Preparation –
- Cut the Barbati or the Beans in small pieces
- Cut the potato in longish pieces after taking the skin off
- Heat oil in a pan and temper with fenugreek seeds
- Add the beans and potato pieces
- Add salt & Turmeric
- Add green chillies
- Keep stirring and once done take off from heat
- Do not add water, let it cook on slow flame and by itself
