Rashayon Goshth (Red Meat cooked in a spicy gravy)

Prepare this flavoursome mutton dish and see the satisfaction on your guests faces. The addition of poppy seed paste to the traditional Mutton curry just uplifts the dish to a new level. Marinating the meat helps the flavours to permeate through and enhance the overall taste of the dish.

 

Ingredients –

  • Yoghurt
  • Poppy-seed paste
  • Garlic paste
  • Onion paste
  • Green chilies paste
  • Salt
  • Sugar
  • Mutton
  • White oil
  • Oil
  • Ghee
  • Red chilies

Preparation –

  • Add poppy seed paste, garlic paste, onion paste, green chilies paste, salt & sugar to the yoghurt.
  • Marinate mutton in this paste for 3 to 4 hours
  • Heat oil in a pan and add a little ghee
  • Temper it with the dry red chilies
  • Fry the mutton pieces after squeezing them out of the mixture
  • Now sauté the marinade in the same oil
  • You can lower the heat and cover to cook or you can pressure cook
  • Keep stirring or else the mutton may get burnt
  • Once done add a dollop of ghee before serving
